About CHHS Bands

Our program

It is the mission of Clover Hill High School band program to help you strive for excellence in ensemble musical performance as well as in your individual character development during your high school career. 

We are a dedicated and diverse group of students that can help you discover your creativity, potential, and passions. There are numerous ways you can become part of this award-winning program. 

Extraordinary Ensembles

Each year, 150 students are involved in our band classes during the school day. These include Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble. 

You can further your musical education with extracurricular ensembles, which include the Marching Cavaliers, Pep Ensemble (Green Hot Chili Peppers), Winter Guard, Indoor Percussion, and Pit Orchestra for theater performances. 

In addition, the program goes on a performance tour each year to exciting destinations. Past years have taken us to The Bahamas, New York City, Nashville, and Orlando in addition to many local performances within the state of Virginia.

What Sets Us Apart

In recent years, we have been honored with: 

  • Status of Virginia Honor Band with Superior performances in concert & marching band for the last 13 years
  • Performance in the Centennial Veterans Day Parade in New York City in 2019 with the President of the United States in attendance
  • Clover Hill Jazz Band performed for the Governor's Jewel Recognition Event and was presented with the Governor's Challenge Coin
  • Awarded a resolution by the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors in 2019 in recognition of recent accolades
  • Invited to perform on the stage of the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City
