For Top-Performing Musicians

This class is Clover Hill’s ensemble of 19 top-performing students that perform in a standard big-band set up. Jazz Band is open by audition to woodwinds, brass, and percussion students and will will help you further explore your talents in a collaborative and creative group setting.

What You’ll Learn

In this class, you’ll be exposed to advanced techniques in jazz including jazz theory, jazz scales, improvisational techniques, jazz history, jazz literature, and performance styles. Outside of the classroom, you’ll have a chance to perform at school concerts and gigs at Clover Hill and throughout the community.

The Details

Instrumentalists may audition for alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, bari saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drum set, auxiliary percussion, vibraphone, electric guitar, bass guitar/upright bass, or keyboard. Auditions are held each spring for the following school year. Questions? Contact Mrs. Gatch.
